We are Darren and Brenda Cooney — two lives shaped by love, redemption, commitment to family and the grace of Jesus.
Darren, the youngest of eight, and Brenda, the youngest of eleven, both grew up in loving homes. Yet at young ages, we each turned to rebellion and substances, searching for the attention we thought we lacked. In adulthood, God brought us together in 2001. Brenda was raising five boys, who quickly became Darren’s boys too. We married in 2002, blending our family and building a life together.
But after five years of wedded bliss, we let old habits slip in. In 2007, we divorced, poor decisions led Darren to a ten years separation from society. It was during that time he experienced his “burning bush” moment. Although ending it all was a fleeting thought, Darren chose sobriety instead and has lived happy, joyous and free for 17 years.
Meanwhile, for the past 10 years Brenda found that same freedom in her own journey. In 2018, God brought us back together after being apart for 12 years. We both chose Jesus over the world.
In 2019, we remarried in a covenant marriage — stronger, wiser, and rooted in faith. Life has not been without struggles. In 2022, we faced the heartbreaking loss of a son. Yet even in grief, we leaned into faith, family, and community, finding strength in Christ and in one another.
Today, Brenda is a successful realtor with Recovery Realtor, serving families with compassion and integrity. Darren recently stepped away from a corporate career of over a decade to join her in launching our husband-and-wife estate sales business. Together, we help families honor heirlooms, find value in household items, and offer quality furniture, appliances, and electronics at a fraction of the cost of new.
We love each other.
We love Jesus.
And we believe you will love what we can do for you.
